
➡️Growing up, I was an extreme rule keeper because I was always afraid of letting God down. For some reason, I had this picture of God being like Moses in the old movie, “The 10 Commandments”. Charleston Heston was always serious, a little irritated, he never smiled, and he always seemed to be in a bad mood.
In the same way, I always felt like God was mad at me – like Moses with the Israelites. However, according to Colossians 1:15, Jesus is the perfect image of the invisible God. Jesus was nothing like Charleston Heston – Jesus was full of life, full of joy, he loved people, people loved him, kids loved him, he went to parties, he was full of compassion, forgiveness, grace, mercy. That was Jesus – and that is God.

If you feel like God is mad at you, let’s look at the Bible – it is absolutely true. If the Bible says it, I’ve chosen to believe it. So how does the Bible answer the question, “Is God mad at me?”
NO – God is not mad at you. No!!
Listen to Isaiah 54:10 — “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, God’s unfailing love will not be shaken nor his covenant of peace be removed, for He has compassion on us.” God’s love never fails – he has nothing but love for you. He is a God of compassion…which comes form the Greek word, Raw-kham — which means a tender love, like a father with his son.
2 Corinthians 5:19 — “God has reconciled the world to himself in Christ, not counting our sins against us.” That word reconcile means that God has exchanged who we are for who Christ is – putting us back into perfect favor with himself. Is God mad at Jesus? No.
Ephesians 1:7 — “In Jesus, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”
Isaiah 53:5-6 — “Jesus was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Every one of us, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and God has laid on Jesus the iniquity of us all.” God took ALL of my sin, and put it on Jesus. Ask the question – If all of my sin is on Jesus, how much of that sin is still on me? None. In Christ Jesus, I am spotless before God.
Lamentations 3:22-23 — “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is his faithfulness.”
I John 4:9-10 — “This is how God showed his love to us: He sent his one and only Son, Jesus, into the world that we might live through him.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
Romans 5:8 — “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
A perfect picture of the love of God is found in Exodus 12 when God told the Israelites to take the blood of an animal and put it over their door frames. God said, “When I see the blood, I will pass over you”. He did not say, “when you’re nice, when you’re getting along, if you’re perfect, if you’ve had a good day, if you’ve got it all together”. None of that. He said, “When I see the blood”. It’s the same for us — God has taken all of our sins, our issues, concerns and situations, and he has put it under the blood of Jesus. So when God looks at us, he sees the blood.

GOD IS IN A GREAT MOOD
According to Psalm 2:4, God sits in heaven and he laughs.
