➡️According to PsychologyToday.com, around 85 percent of the things people worry about never happen; and if what they worry about does happen, 79 percent of them said they handled the outcome better than they thought they would. In other words, it ended up not being as big of a deal that they thought it was going to be.
For example, in Alabama where I live, if there’s any prediction at all about snow, even if it’s just possible snow flurries, schools close down, people call off of work, and grocery stores shelves empty – not because snow is actually coming, but because people are worried that it might be coming.

My name is Stan. I am not a pastor or anything like that, I am an entrepreneur – I actually own a Music School. I love the Lord, I love my family, I love life and I love the Bible. I believe the Bible is absolutely true. Whatever the Bible says about anything, I believe it’s right. So what does the Bible say about worry?
1…Worry is a choice. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”. According to this verse, I have two options: I can worry or I can pray. If I choose to bring my fears and anxiety to my heavenly father in prayer, he promises to give me his peace, which I may not understand, but it will guard my heart and my mind in the middle of whatever situation I’m facing.
2…Worry is a thief. John 10:10 says, “The enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy, but God has come to give us life, and life to the full.” Again, we have two options: we can choose to believe the lies of the enemy, or we can, according to 2 Corinthians 10:5, “take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.” If we decide to believe the lies of the enemy, and remember worry is often rooted in lies, this will steal the abundant life that God has for us.
3…Worry is a sin. Worry is not just a bad choice, it’s a sin. Philippians 4:6 says, “do not be anxious about anything.” Matthew 6:25 says, “do not worry about your life.”
Isaiah 41:10 says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”
Joshua 1:9, one of my life scriptures, says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
If the Bible clearly says, again and again, do not worry, and I decide to worry anyway, that’s called sin. The same Bible that says do not steal, do not kill, and do not commit adultery also says do not worry. James 4:17 says, “if I know the good I ought to do (trust God instead of worry), but I do not do it, it’s sin.”
Ask yourself – am I worried about something today? Am I afraid something might not work out? Am I worried about my future, my health, my kids? If worry has become a part of who you are, a choice that you know you should not make, a thief that is stealing the peace that God promises, or a sin in your life that’s keeping you from God’s presence, listen to Matthew 11:28-29: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
1…Go to God. With God there’s never any condemnation, only forgiveness.
2…Take His yoke upon you. A yoke is a crosspiece that keeps two animals tied together, working together. When I’m yoked with God, he carries the load, he directs my steps, he takes care of the hard labor.
3…Learn from Him. Get in his Word and find out what he says about whatever you’re worrying about.
4…Rest in Him – for his yoke is easy and his burden is light.
That’s in the Bible, and the Bible is always right.
