➡️I recently had the opportunity to speak before the state council of the Alabama Public Library System, because they were voting on whether transgender books should be in the children’s section of the library.  I had two revelations that day. One, I was convicted because I’m never around people that disagree with me. I live with a Christian family, attend a Christian Church, and work at a Christian business.  For the first time in my life, I was speaking in a secular environment, in a room with a lot of people that are nothing like me, people that don’t know the love of God.  My second revelation that day was my heart breaks for people that disagree with me, people that don’t know the love of God.

The transgender community are people that God created.  God loves them just like he loves us.  Always ask the question, if Jesus was given the opportunity to spend a few minutes with a transgender, how would he act? What would he say?  Of course, we never compromise the truth, and we never stop praying – but our main goal is to act like Jesus and love the sinner.

For example, I own a very successful Music School, so I can share personal stories of students that have come into our school one gender, but left “another gender”.  We always loved them – but we also called them the pronoun that God created them to be (we refused to speak a lie over their identity).  However, because of our love for them as people, they kept coming back.  They were confused, they were broken, and they so badly just wanted someone to love them through this process.  Psalms 147:3 says, “GOD is the one that heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” What people are experiencing is deep brokeness  – and no change of dress, pronoun or political rally is going to change that.

HOWEVER, let me speak to the transgender –  God created you and he is perfect in everything he does.  Psalm 139:13 says, “God created your inmost being, he knit you together in your mothers womb”.  If you’re hurting, or if you’ve been hurt, I’m so sorry – BUT pretending to be someone you’re not, or even worse trying to destroy the body that God created is never the answer.  Biblically, being a transgender is a sin (Genesis 1:27 says that God created male and female; and Deuteronomy 22:5 says that it sickens God when men wear women’s cloths and women wear men’s cloths).

However, God loves you and he will take you exactly how you are – ALL OF US come to God as sinners.  We were all “born that way”, into sin. Romans 3:23 says, “All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”.   But we don’t stay in our sin – we allow God, in his perfect love, to change us.  John 3:16 says, “God loves us so much that he even gave his one and only son, Jesus, to die for us. And if we believe in him, we will not die in our sin, but instead we will have eternal life.”

That’s in the Bible and the Bible is always right!
