➡️If you’re at a place in your life where you need direction, don’t miss this!

According to John chapter 10:27, Jesus says that my sheep – that’s us – hear his voice, he knows us and we follow him. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m at a place where I’ve GOT to know where to go, what to do, what direction to take.  I need God’s wisdom for my next steps.

If that’s you, here’s three ways that God still speaks to his people:

1…God still speaks through his PROMISES.  Psalms 119:105 says, “God‘s word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”, meaning his Word will provide guidance, direction and understanding just like a lamp would illuminate your steps on a dark path. The Bible offers practical wisdom and instruction for everyday life, but we have to make a decision to spend time in the Bible.  If you’re only giving 2 to 3 minutes a day to God‘s word, that’s like holding a match on a dark path…it’s not enough. Make a decision with me that we’re going to invest time into the word of God, because God still speaks through His Word.

2…God still speaks through his PEOPLE.  According to Proverbs 13:20, if you want to be a person of wisdom, you have to spend time with wise people, because a companion of fools suffers harm.  In the words of my dad, show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future. It is crucial who you spend your life with. God speaks through HIS people, not just any people. Make a choice today to guard your ears and guard your heart from any voice that does not lineup with the word of God, because God speaks through people – yes, pastors, spiritual leaders, counselors – and Godly friends.

3…God still speaks through his PRESENCE.  1st Chronicles 16:11 says to seek his presence continually. John 15:4-5 says, “Remain in me, because apart from me, you can do nothing.”  And Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:6, when we pray, to go into our room, shut the door – turn off the tv, put down the phone, set aside our schedules – and there, in his presence, pray to your Father.  When you spend time in God‘s presence, it’s like visiting a chiropractor, it feels amazing, even when it hurts, but in the process, everything is getting lined back up.

Before Jesus left his disciples, he told them that it is better for him to leave them alone so that the Father could send the Holy Spirit. It is better for us to have the Holy Spirit inside of us, than to have the person of Jesus beside us.

He is with you now – and he still speaks.

It’s in the Bible – and the Bible is always right.
